Port Blair, Aug 28: The five days Sri Ganesh Pooja will be held at Chinmaya Mission Port Blair from August 31 to September 4, 2022. The auspicious day of Ganesh Pooja on 31st August will begin at 8 am with Sri Ganapati Hoam, followed by Pooja. At 10 am Idols of Lord Ganapati and Pooja vidhi will be distributed to the devotees. The viserjan will be held on September 4, 2022 at 5.30 pm at Chatham.

Port Blair, Aug 28: Seven positive cases have been detected today in A&N Islands, of which, 3 were from incoming flight passengers who arrived here yesterday. Today, 9 flights with 1420 passengers arrived, out of which, 1294 passengers were vaccinated with both doses while RT-PCR test was conducted on 98 passengers and the reports are awaited.

Port Blair, Aug. 28: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 6,96,418 doses of vaccine have been administered to beneficiaries in the age group of 18 and above so far. Similarly, 23,944 beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the age group of 15 to 18 years. 28, 179 beneficiaries in the age group of 12 to 14 years have been administered both doses of vaccine. The number of beneficiaries administered precautionary dose of vaccine so far stood at 2,32,204.

Port Blair, Aug 26: On the issue of protests being staged by students of DBRAIT, the Member of Parliament of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has urged the Chief Secretary of A & N Administration to intervene in the matter and consider fulfilling all genuine demands of DBRAIT students.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, the Member of Parliament mentioned that a large number of students of DBRAIT are staging protest in front of DBRAIT gate to press some long pending demands related to proper affiliation of DBRAIT and other crucial issues.
